Leaving for Paris in a week from now!

Hey, my very little used blog! I love writing on this blog, but I just don't take the time to do it. But now I have so much inspiration, so let me write a little bit.

The last days have been amazing. I have had fun from here to the moon with friends and family. The senior years at my school celebrated their last day of school with class, and included everyone in their partying. I loved the way they do it here in The Netherlands; it's so much more about fun than in Norway, where it is all about sex and alcohol. The day after all the partying I biked to my grandparent's house, which is about an hour from where I live, and I brought my American girlfriends with me. We had a great time there with Canadian Poutine, hamburgers and a lot of snacks for the late night when we were watching Friends.

Today I have been packing my suitcase, since I am leaving to Norway in two days. I am so happy to go to Norway after 8 months, but still I am a bit nervous. What if everything is changed there? Or what if I never want to leave again? Then fortunately the week after I have a week in Paris to clear my thoughts of where I feel more at home. Even though it doesn't matter what I feel, because in the summer I am going back to Norway anyway.

But guys. PARIS. I am so excited! It will be such an experience. I am going there with people from school, and we are staying for 4 days. I have so many things I want to see, but we'll see what I get time to do. I am so inspired at the moment, because I was looking around on we heart it for pictures from Paris, and now I just want to skip Norway and go to Paris for two weeks, haha! But fine, let's go to Norway first, and then see what happens. In the meantime I can just look at these beautiful pictures.

I have packed a lot of striped shirts!

Paris at spring! Beautiful!

My one and only Melody

It's hard to explain how happy I was this morning when I read that Melody Gardot is giving out a new album this spring. More than very happy anyway.

If it wasn't for Melody Gardot, I would not have started to listen to jazz and loved it as much at this time as I do.

When I was about 13 years old, I started taking singing-classes. At first I only learned different techniques, but after some months I could start to pick out songs my self. At first I only picked out songs from the typical mainstream genres, because I didn't know about anything else. But one day my mom bought me the cd "My one and only thrill" of Melody Gardot. The first time I listened it through I was a bit sceptical, and wasn't sure if I liked it. But the more I listened to it, the more I figured this was going to be my favourite type of music for a long time. And I started singing the kind of music she sings, and I started to listen to more music from her genre. And quickly my taste of music turned into the jazz side. Today almost everything I ever listen to is jazz. But it all started with the nice voice and cute songs of Melody Gardot.

Therefore you can maybe also imagine that I am very happy that she is also coming to North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam this year, where I am also going! It will be such a big moment for me to see her live! Can't wait!

So this is the first song we are able to hear from her new album, it's called Mira.

Sunny

Hello!

Today was a beautiful day in Friesland! It was warm and sunny, and finally the spring is comming for real. Kids are outside playing, the birds are making a lot of noise and everyone is smiling with the sunglasses on their noses. I thought it was a nice oppurtunity to use my new Heart tights from Primark. This is how I looked today:

After school I went to McDonald's with Makayla and Sarah to buy some milkshake. My American girls haha!
When I got home I got visit over to chat about music and more, and now I have some german homework to do.

I am so looking forward to this weekend! It will be so great, I am sure of it! But you will probably hear more about it when I am back from the adventures that this weekend will bring ;)

Hope you all had an as sunny and shining day as me!

My host-sister Marijke was my beautiful and very generous photographer today. <3

It has been such a nice and sunny day in Friesland! The temperature is sinking, and it is perfect for ice-skating now. So my host-sister Laura and I are planning to go tonight, it will be so much fun! Hope many people from school are coming, and that I still know how to ice-skate, haha. It's some years ago since I did it the last time, unfortunately. But this will be my first time in The Netherlands :D

I took this picture with my iPod on my way home from school today. Love how it's freezing!!

Have a lovely winter day!

Smile with your eyes

Shirt Redbird Tshirt Gina Tricot Shorts & Legging H&M Apple from the kitchen

Got a nice day? Yes? Good! Me too! But I don't recommend you to wear something like this at school if you have to bike... It was a bit cold. The tshirt says "Smile with your eyes". Maybe you could try that to someone today? With me it didn't succeed, because I always open my mouth and laugh as well. But sometimes just a smile with your eyes is the best or cutes to do.

I woke up with Jamie Cullum this morning. Not with him of course, even though that would be nice for a change, but with his cd Twentysomething. And the whole day, all of the songs have been in my head giving me a nice and jazzy soundtrack to all my classes. This song is my favourite:
